My Info

My work isn’t about me ~
It’s about communication.
Because communication is an art.

Since 1986, I have been quietly working to bring my clients incredible results. In that time I’ve worked with large corporations, major theater and arts organizations, and many non-profit organizations and small businesses. I built my first website in 1995, and created the first web presence for several Twin Cities Companies and Institutions, including MacPhail Center for the Arts.

Whether designing for print or interactive, my process is the same: understand the goals, do the research and analysis, identify the requirements, establish the information architecture, formulate the user interface, ideate on visual design, build the first iteration, refine, reiterate and repeat.

UX Roles:
Creative & Art Director, Experience, Visual, & Interface Design; Information Architecture, Content Management, Research & Analysis, Usability Testing, A/B Testing.

UX Deliverables:
Visual Design, Wire frames, Mock-ups, Prototypes, Site maps, Journey Maps, Flow Maps, Storyboards.

What my clients say about me:

“Jon is a clear-thinking, highly collaborative professional with fresh ideas to spare. As an employee, he always went above and beyond. As a manager, I never worried about a project when Jon was on it. And any manager knows that finding that kind of peace of mind is rare.”

Jana Branch
Writing, Editing, Brand Strategy – Articulo Consulting

“Jon Poor is perhaps the most ego-less graphic designer I have ever worked with. He can concept a brand new project, but if you need someone to come in and work within your branding guidelines he can do it, and somehow make it look better, while still looking like your brand, but never looking like a Jon Poor production. Make sense?

I once had a total design snob look at one of Jon’s pieces and assume he was some Swiss-trained, overpriced guy that she could never afford. No, he’s just Jon, and he’s creative, and he works hard, and gets your project done with flair.”

Kelly M. O’Brien
Digital Project Manager – Stamats

“I have known Jon Poor for decades. He was the first designer I knew who went fully digital when the Mac had finally developed to the point of being a useful tool. We have collaborated on many projects over the course of several client relationships. I highly recommend Jon and the capabilities of his work.”

Steve Sikora
Principal and Creative Director – Design Guys, Inc
